I hope this is allowed to be asked, if not mods please delete this thread.

But i was wondering if we could somehow make a map or image of which spaces have the bitter bark tree (that costs 800,000 to clear) and which don't, so we know which ones to expand when given a choice of multiple spaces.

What do you guys think?

goodness no, please don't tell me these prices are permanent...if they are, I would like to know this as well.

Seems to me that all the spaces with the brownish colored trees on them are bitter barks

That would be great info to have! Luckily I haven't seen a bitter bark for 800000 yet. I have 2 on the west side of the first part of the island for 250000 and a wretch rock for 200000.

Here's a couple of bitter barks plus a motley boulder near the tree.

By brownish tree I mean like the space that has the expand sign in it. If you notice it's a bitter bark just not lit up green after the expansion. You can tell what's going to be there just by looking at it. Look and study the different shapes of the trees.

Btw, on my iPad account the bitter bark clearing is 250,000. Does it change by level or which island you're clearing?

And the same things aren't in the same spaces on my iPad account. Like spots that would have a bitter bark on my phone have something else there instead.

I have left a lot of the original foliage on my island as I have expanded. Add me if you want to look.

I just find it annoying that I have a bitter bark needing to be cleared on 3 different islands, all at 800,000 :/
Worst part is I now have to save up the coins so I can clear it as I'm pretty much out of space of what was cleared :/

It doesn't seem right hat you pay more to clear patches to expand then come across very expensive rocks and trees to complete clearing, it is very offputting. ?800,000 and 990,000 are too much. Why I have tried the suggestion to look at the tree shapes, but that doesn't seem to apply unless every area you come across these

Found this on a different thread (not sure which one now) but it's what I use to decide where to expand next:

The costs to expand and clear foliage can be a bitter pill to swallow when you're fairly new to the game. It gets a lot easier, though. Once you get to 20-30 habitats and evolve 50+ dragons to at least level 6 or 7, you will be able to collect more coins than you can spend. 800k to clear a bitter bark will be a drop in the bucket. I've been playing for about a year. It took about 4-5 months before I got to the point where I never have a coin shortage. I have around 70 habitats and 170 dragons. I can easily collect a million coins in a couple of hours

Very true! It seems amazing to me now that I used to cringe at a $25,000 tree and just this morning I had an $800,000 tree to clear and didn't give it a second thought.

One thing I did earlier was to wait for a gold sale and then bought $4,600,000 coins that I used specifically for clearing 2 of those trees and a couple of the $990,000 boulders. Once I had habitats in those spaces I started earning enough coins to keep me ahead of the amount needed to expand or clear further.

The more you expand the more it costs to clear it.

This is false. It's true that the more you expand, the more the EXPANSIONS cost, but the clearing is a set amount for each 'zone' and the same for all players (at least currently, I understand it was cheaper to clear things in the past). So, it really matters which zone you expand to.
