I thought I'd write a post asking everyone what combos they used to get the forest scarab, I've tried and tried and cannot get this one yet :-)

Try leveling up your Tree Rex to 9. Maybe, you will have a better luck.
Forest Scarab is the only one I need and it's being a pain in the butt.

Same for me. I read that when you're trying for something specific to use the same combo repeatedly without switching to something else between tries. Anybody feel there's truth to that?

A developer a while ago posted that level makes no difference in breeding chances. My observations indicate that certain monsters are just more lucky then others at yielding rares. Personally I think it is the monster's name that determines its luck, but it is only a theory nothing more. In my case I have an inferoo named Twig that yields an above average rate for rares (and was a parent for both my diamonds). So try and see if you have a tree rex named twig (twig is a green monster name so any monster with a green element can have it). See if that helps.
My guide lines for lucky monsters:
1 in 2 monsters on average are rare - both parents are lucky (and if they have 4 elements amongst them then spam it until you get a diamond or something changes)
1 in 3 to 1 in 5 monsters on average are rare - one parent is lucky other average
1 in 6 to 1 in 8 monsters on average are rare - both parents are average or one is lucky and one unlucky
1 in 9 and lower - one or both parents are unlucky and you should probably stop using both of them in any future breeding.

Thanks for the tip. I checked and had a burn bark named Twig so will try it.

Been trying for about a week straight for a forest scarab with either a shell/tree Rex combo or a tree Rex/shraptor combo. Finally got an 11 hour time tonight with the tree Rex/shraptor! Both are epic, but I don't think it matters. Now I only have a couple of non-diamond hybrids to go!
