Strange breeding?

1. I have bred Medussaur (green/blue) with Eaguana (yellow/white) and it resulted in ecogoo (blue/green).
2. Then I have bred Eaguana (yellow/white) with Medussaur (green/blue) and the result was Sku Turtle (white/yellow).

So, my question is: Is that right, that both elements were picked from one parent monster, while breeding?

Yes, the result will be any combination of the four colours you use.
