New Dawn Confusion

In hopes we can put our heads together and figure out this new land and how it affects our old game.

New Dawn. Thank you TL for the name change option, new decor, tasks, habitats, new white element, and dragons, etc. It should be exciting moving forward with this game. But there are confusing aspects of playing both games.

What carries over between games, and what doesn't. my observations... Has anyone else noticed these or other issues?

Immediately after downloading New Dawn I checked both games (new/old); collected food and it carried over to the other game. However a few hours later my actions in one game did not carry over to the other, and is still not.

I collected 30 Gold in both games for the new buy 1 decor task and my gold was 300 in my old DS, and 271 in New Dawn. After a few hours both games register 271. (must have been a bug/glitch, but I still feel like I lost the gold since I already had it! What really gets me though, is how I was able to collect the gold in both since the new tasks don't carry over to the old version.

Currently trying to monitor the coin, gold, and food to see if they remain in Sync with both games from this point on.

-Purchased a new White Habitat in New Dawn which is not in the old DS version.
-Clearing foliage is not carrying over.
-New Farm Upgrade did carry over to the old game
-The Eagle that I had evolving showed on both games and I had to move it back to its habitat in both games. So that's really confusing. I'm hoping that's just because it was in the process of evolving when I downloaded the new dawn.

Update: I just tested it, Evolving an Air dragon in New Dawn, but back in Old DS the same Air dragon is still in its habitat.

So basically we can run two games that start out identical and they'll end up completely different. Kinda cool, not sure how I like it yet. But it's keeping me busy!

Has anyone tested expansions? I know they're much cheaper, which is nice... But are they in sync? What else have you discovered?

Ps. Oh and that middle expansion on the lowest area that nobody could clear... is now the golden tree which looks awesome!

I'm guessing that the lag or not duplicating on both games is a server error.
I'd personally recommend just using one version.

Thanks, the problem I have with that is that I really don't like the blinding, washed out, unnatural colors to the New Dawn. I love the look of the original game. However, I'm loving the new items and tasks, etc. so I'll keep playing both temporarily until I decide! The bug seems to be working itself out after everything is getting caught up. My neighbors and gifts are in sync.

Okay, so I'm noticing that my 2 iPad DS/ND games are completely in sync. Expansions, food, neighbors, etc. However my 2 iPhone DS/ND games are not at all sync.

I haven't noticed a change in speed at all, both of mine lag. But that may be an issue with our Internet rather than the game.

Agreeing with the other replies that I really think it is best to pick and play just one game - it's like when bakery/farm/restaurant story have had holiday version and while everything does sync up between games there are glitches and bugs of lost gems and coins if you hop between the two too often.

Yes, I noticed I lost a ton of coins on my iPhone games. (Not on iPad though)... I guess I may have to stick with only playing New Dawn. Not happy about it because I really prefer the look of the original game. The colors were perfect and everything coordinated very well. The New Dawn just seems to have a ridiculous color scheme that doesn't match any of the old habitats and decor.

Does anyone know if I delete the old game from my devices and play only New Dawn... Once I complete all my tasks and buy all the new decor... Can I then delete New Dawn and reinstall the Original Dragon Story.... Will all my progress from New Dawn carry over?

Just because you rename your dragon doesn't mean that your game is still recognizing the same dragon with the name is had first.

Say if my dragon's name was "Hydra" I rename it to "Cruise" to "better my chances" of getting a diamond. Well, what if the game still see's my dragon as "Hydra"

I know people on the forums have had the name theory but I'm almost positive it is all elemental. I really don't think names have anything to do with breeding, etc. what effect could a name really have? With that said, I'm not gonna lie, once I noticed the certain dragons with mythological names... At first the thought crossed my mind that I may have more luck with certain named dragons... But it didn't pan out.

Name changes also do not sync with the old version of DS. (FYI.)

So how do I go about completing the goal: Journey to Dawn then? Do i just expand and clear everything around the Golden tree?

I noticed the lack of sync too and thought maybe if you close each program before running the other one so it has to load it every time it may run the same game for both. That's what I'm going to do.

I'm also doing this because I hate the look. I thought Monster story was inspid but these colours just take ickiness to a whole new level, and considering this is about dragons I think they've lost the plot. They may as well call this game pixie-cupcake-candyfloss-story. I can only bear to look at it long enough to do the new things that you can't do in the old version. The syncing is a problem so I'm leaving long enough in between swapping games for it to catch up.

Yeah, the expansions are lower.. but the glitch for the newer versions HAS ended up in the game. So i can't clear out a bitter bark DX

I had a theory that since (in the beginning) I kept every Firestorm and Eagle ever bred ... that the game just kept giving me what I had majority of... Can't say I believe this theory because it has no foundation other than it crossed my mind. But I still do not have a scorpion on that game that is full of fire/air hybrids. However on my new game (new device) I got a scorpion without trying ... after keeping mostly green and blue dragons.

Happened to me too. But if U refresh the old game then it shows the changes that U made in the new version. Hope that was helpful :)

I can't believe how sucky this New Dawn expansion is. I deleted it and stuck with the original as I realised that everything on ND is the same as on my DS. Apart from there being no trading portal on New Dawn, no craft shop, no new virtue dragon, no storage facility. What a load of bull. Original DS rocks but I still have issues with the length of time it takes to do nearly everything in this game. and the gold costs for speeding things up are super high. It looks like TeamLava just want us all to spend our hard-earned cash on gold every day.

Once you do a action in ND, close ND from the multitask menu and open reg DS. Then close DS from the multi task bar.

Done.. Registered moves.. Its pretty simple if you know a lot about i - devices
