Placemats and toasters

I cannot get my placemats or toaster to stay on my kitchen island. They keep going underneath. I've tried putting them in storage and retrieving but doesn't work.

I will not buy anymore small objects because of this.

Anyone else encounter this problem? Any solution?

Keep moving them until the item you want to put them on has a green line highlight around it. Placemats were the hardest for me.

They do go on top, just allow the island to highlight as ccane77 said. You may want to zoom in a bit.

Try zooming in closer, then try to place it on top.
