and
you lose the coin you paid for it

Did you only just purchase the item? In my case the parts requested never appear in my inventory until the game resets at 12 am PST. It's really annoying, haha.

Are you sending to all your neighbors? If so, how many is that? You may have clogged up your request system. Try not sending out any requests tomorrow and see if the system catches up, then only send to about 25 neighbors you know are active (meaning they gift or answer your requests in the past, not necessarily star rating), and you'll probably get your requests quicker.
