Blue Caller Placement Problem

I purchased one this morning, it just finished.

It looks like i can place it on a table, counter, etc. When I tap, it puts it on the floor behind the object I placed it on.

Is this by design that the phone goes on the floor?

The phone should be able to go onto a table.
If it ended up on the floor, then store it.
When you take it out of storage, do not place on the floor then drag up.
When trying to place make sure you have a solid green grid before placing.
