Why is the Border Collie so outrageously expensive?

I'm just wondering why the huge difference in gem price of the Border Collie compared to other gem pets??

I don't know. I think 149 gems is way to much. No one will spend that money for 1 dog!

Especially seeing that the border collie only collects 8 coins every 18 minutes..........who has the opportunity to collect every 18 minutes!! Very low earner for real money making it not much fun.

Its b/c the Collie unlocks the Tree Frog which then unlocks the Bull Frog
