Sale on gold?

Hi...i've only been playing for a few weeks, but I think I would like an extra nest. Two questions, is there any way to get more gold other than gifting? Is there ever a sale on gold? Thanks :)

Ive have been playing daily since almost day one with this one and have not seen a gold sale yet. Occasionally there are goals that will yield gold but there is no other way to get gold than your hard earned cash. At least they give us the ability to get 3 per day. Most of the other games dont do that.
