I can't use my non-food Gifts!

I'm trying to complete my Fire Pit Grill and it says I need a SCREW and a STURDY WOOD. I already have both things in MY GIFTS, however when I try to click on them the screen says "STURDY WOOD is constructible part, can't be served."

How do I use them then???!!!

If RS is like bakery story then when you tap on the item you are building it should already be there. As long as you accepted the gifts from your neighbors. Is there a cardboard box where the item is that you are constructing?
