Snow monkey not giving XP.

I just noticed that my snow monkey is not giving the XP and only giving the coins every 5 mins. I have already reinstalled the app and have also restarted my device. For all I know this has probably been happening since I bought the monkey. I guess I just assumed that I would receive my XP along with the coins as promised. :( can someone tell me how I can fix this or get my 25,000 coins used to purchase the monkey back? Thanks.

Just realized that my chickens are doing the same thing. Is this how it's supposed to be, that you only get the coins at the specified time? If so, why is it different for the animals than it is for the crops?

You only receive xps when buying the animals. You only get coins when collecting from them.
