Instead of the gem setup, why don't you guys create a couple of food packs each week that include six new items that you can cook (ranging from 15m, 30m, 1h, 2h, 6h, 12h) for a $1 as an update in the app store? Example: The hamburger pack could include - Cheese Burgers, California Chicken Burger, Chipotle Burger, Black & Bleu Burger, etc.
