Help with island name

When I'm trying to change my island name it says that no symbols (from the emoji-keyboard) are allowed even though some of my neighbors have symbols in their names. Is there a new update wich prevents you from using symbols or what?? Please help!!

The first one has to be a regular letter or number, from the normal keyboard (A, B, C, 1, 2, 3, etc)

Put a space before your name so your on the top of the list and will most likely be gifted by your neighbors frequently
