In what way are the featured items different from the ones in the store?

They are found in two places instead of one?

The Featured Items menu is used to display some of the newest items in the store. If you see the Featured Item image change, then you know that new things are available. Of course, the featured items haven't changed much recently because no new items have been added since before Halloween.
