Lost population

Went into city story just now came up with factories need to be recovered but I knew still had 6hrs to go so I said not to recover them then when my city came up it said I have no people or business which I knew I did as I have a 24 x 24 land any ideas what's wrong ??? Not happy about it please help from id georgiepie

Same here, no population, no happiness and expired contracts even though I had started new ones. I too chose to abandon and they were ok. Servers down for maintenance message too.
