Is Palmdale apart of the desert? If it is, I didn't know. But no, but I do know that Palmdale does reach dangerously high temperatures. But I live around the Cajon Pass area.

August is usually the hottest month and today afternoon it was around 104 (and it's still July!!!!).
Sometimes during hottest summer days, temperature can rise around 118 or up!!! ☀☀☀☀☀

Palmdale is part of the High Desert - and gets very warm in the summer ;)
