Mastered Recipes

What happens once you mastered a recipe and you completed level 4? Is that the top level or does it continue on to 5 and so on?

I read that you receive Gems once you complete level 2 and level 4..... will you get a larger amount of XP if you complete level 5?

4 is the highest. You get 1 gem after 2nd lvl and 1 gem after you've mastered the item

What if you made it so that food level decreases slowly over time just like the red stars for tipping so that people can have more chance to get gems?
Once you master the 1 to 6 hours recipes, it's kinda hard to earn gems...
