I've been keeping track of my gem losses ever since the "Tap to Manage" feature was added. Including the 1 that was taken today, I've lost 47 gems thus far. I would have 73 gems right now if not for this blatant gem trap. So much for saving nice things! :(

I have lost 44 gems:mad:, and dozens of neighbors and friends are telling me they have lost gems as well because of the "tap to manage" pop-ups. One friend lost 200 gems! I am never going to buy gems, as I do not want TL to profit by this unfair practice. I hope others will encourage their neighbors to complain to TL, and take whatever action they feel is reasonable and appropriate to stop TL from being unfair.

I am not sure what 'tap to manage' means, but I have just lost 24 gems in the shop. I clicked on 'featured' items to have a look and as soon as the screen changed, I got a pop-up telling me that I had opened a chest containing some uncommon something or other. I imagine I must have tapped at exactly the wrong moment as the screen was changing and 'purchased' but seriously, what the hell?? Why is there not a confirm purchase button so mishaps like this do not happen? Anyway, I immediately opened a support ticket to teamlava, and got my reply today.

So, yeah....my reply to THAT nonsense is:
"So sorry to hear this. As far as I'm concerned, this is extremely poor game design AND customer service. Anything that requires in game 'cash' ie 'gems', should automatically have a confirm purchase button so accidents like this cannot happen. I will be deleting this game now and will no longer consider games from your company, nor recommend them to friends."

It's a shame, but there are many many games out there and THIS sort design and the resulting customer service is obviously a cash grab on the company's part to ensure people continue to fork over real world cash for in game perks.

Gotcha, doesn't matter anyway, just a generic company 'so sorry, sucks to be you, have a nice day' kind of comment. I've done what I can do, left a detailed review of the game with the obligatory 1 star rating and warned people about the lack of purchase confirmation. It's really too bad because the game DOES have a lot going for it, it's visually appealing and I was really close to purchasing some gems to buy some extras. I'm NOT going to make a financial investment in any game that is prone to 'accidentally' draining them all away with absolutely no recourse nor support from the company though.

What happened to you is not "tap to manage" but a store purchase. You don't get to peak at what is in a game chest. There seem to be many ways in which gems get removed from players when they did not intend it, and this is one of them. Another is when a pop-up window occurs to "manage crops", where it can be tapped by mistake, and a player can lose 1 or 20 gems at a tap! These pop-ups occur when a person is harvesting crops, or simply taps twice on a square on their farm. The pop-up windows are in the middle of a screen, and very easy to tap unintentionally. :mad:

I have been asking if TeamLava is attempting to fix these problems, but so far I have not received a reply in the affirmative. How sad. It give the appearance that TeamLava does not care about players... Or even worse. Of course we won't go there, but it does get one to thinking..........

Phoebesmom, you can register your petition for removal of Tap to Manage officially at Farm Story Discussion- there's a petition thread on it. I too have lost over 40 hard earned gems to this.

I think the tap to manage could have been removed by now if they listened to feedback. It's too profitable to do that though so I don't expect to see it changed any time soon. Fact of life. $$$$$

Team Lava does refund accidental gems purchases.
If you are missing gems and you are not sure what happened to them, you can email support@teamlava.com and they can assist you.


EDIT 7-22-12- TL does not refund accidental gem purchases.

i have two problems with this -first and foremost i did not ask for this, and second my farm doesnt appear to be "fully" fertilized?

please refund my stolen gems. i feel like a good gesture of goodwill would be to begin awarding more gems to your players as the stolen gem issue seems to be an issue that a number of your users are complaining about!

Tl doesn't refund gems, even If spent "accidentally ".

Since when?? I and MANY others have reported accidental gem purchases to support, and we are all met with the same too-bad-so-sad "we cannot refund gems" response. When the game was having serious problems several months ago, I had a couple of neighbors that lost entire farms, got their farm back, but were not given their gems back.

Since when?? I and MANY others have reported accidental gem purchases to support, and we are all met with the same too-bad-so-sad "we cannot refund gems" response. When the game was having serious problems several months ago, I had a couple of neighbors that lost entire farms, got their farm back, but were not given their gems back.

why don't they - such poor customer service ... if there is an issue with a game that many users are complaining about why wouldn't they refund gems in the intrim of getting the flaw fixed?

i got the same [] response and i'm not happy! i do however note that they managed to fix the issue with the sheds ... shocking that it is taking them so long to "correct" the tap manage issue which we have been asking to have fixed since it was introduced!!!!

Well, I'm glad I'm not the only player experiencing this issue. I lost 242 gems overnight and a beach chair showed up in my inventory. Teamlava told me I made the purchase and that's it--too bad so sad. No gem refund.

A beach chair costs 242 gems?!!?

I too have had the same problem & to date right now I've lost 226 gems thru this gem trap & your right they r the sorryest company for customer service all they care about is lining their pockets with our hard earned cash we spend buying gems. I have opened 4to5 tickets on this issue & all were closed with no explanation & no return if my stolen gems. I think we should all contact BBB & credit card & maybe media to get action

Thats OK TL, you can take my gems and not let me save enough for the dog that I want. I know that you are out to trick me out of the gems I earned, so no way Im giving you any real $$$$ to steal from me. I got two pieces of junk that I dont want and no dog that I do want. Don't you get it, it makes us feel bad. Bad is the opposite of good, its bad. You know that, right?

I hope you HAVE contacted BBB, credit card company and Media!! 226 gems is outrageous for TL to ignore!! They are obviously insensitive to any problems when it comes to their financial well being. At some point in 2011 they were making $1,000,000 a day. Certainly they can afford to reimburse for unfairly taken gems!:mad:

The only thing new is that I download and have been using for the last week the updated "Olympic" version. I see a number of other complaints about missing Gems, but not sure if anyone else is seeing occur with this updated version.-so disappointed and at a complete loss.....

So far the tap to manage gem trap has me down 60 gems, so much for saving them and buying something I wanted. Wow, really can I have some more fertilizer, please.
