i have restaurant story for the droid and whenever i try to buy gems it doesn't let me it just redirects me to the teamlava website, please help.

Try checking I think it is google wallet account and make sure you have accepted the terms and agreement and check your payment method. If credit card make sure
it is update to date.

ok so how would i tell if the game is up to date and is google wallet an app or something already on the phone

This also happened to me too. I also tried to purchase gems over the weekend and it opened to the google site, but the "accept and buy" button never activated so i could hit it.
