Can't send gifts or use those I accept!

I am playing bs on my iPad 2 and for the last 2 days I have been unable to send gifts except for those that have been requested. I am also unable to use the gifts that have been sent to me. Any ideas how to fix this?:confused:

A couple of days ago, I can't send messages to ask my neighbors for parts when I tapped the oven-box to build it. So I stopped buying any ovens, and updated the game from 1.4.1-to-1.5.1 version. But today, something weird again: when my nbrs sent me "yellow knob", I tapped the "accept" button, but in "MY GIFTS" bar, the yellow knob's number always stopped at 4. It didn't raise any more.

I don't know if this is the same issue, but I have received a gift, and am notified about it when I start the game. When I click on the "view gifts" or go to the my gifts section, it is blank.
