Question about Airplane Mode for the iPhone

Well, I'm going to be flying later this evening, and I'd love to know if the TL servers are just used as backup (and for determining if a habitat has been played with by a community member or not) or if I absolutely have to be connected to the internet to play.

You absolutely have to be internet connected to play. But I believe your game will continue on when you're in airplane mode. Your timed stuff will continue going.

I'm not sure I explained right. Your game is always going when you're not there, but in airplane mode you won't be able to access it.

Thanks very much. I'll make sure to plant some Pumpwings on my farms right before I leave then. It'll be a 5 hour flight to Seattle before an 8 hour layover. x.x
