If I update, will I lose everything? HELP!!!

I have spent real money on gems & I have bought a ton of stuff for my fashion story, will I lose it all if I update? I read that some people have lost their stuff, is this true? I don't have the "quests" that I keep reading about. Does that come w/ the update. Please help me... Thanks! :)

the makeup counter is currently not offered on the kindle fire fashion game.
When you do an update to your game, you will not lose any of your game.

Kindle fire Fashion games do not currently have the goals.
