I'm breeding a fairy and a magic dragon in the hope of getting a diamond but the breeding will finish in 10 hours, so what do you think I have instead?

Level 3-44 - 8 food (40 overall)
Level 4-5 - 20 food (100 overall)

Level 7-8 - 250 food (1250 required)
Level 8-9 - 500 food (2500 required)

I've been developing the same theory for a while but I go after the genetic terms. You call it "Eagle=yellow/yellow/red", I'd say the Eagle has dominant air genes (or has recessive fire genes).

Ohhh, is that what your post was about? I didn't understand it at all, I'm afraid :eek: Too long since my last science class, I suppose. Sorry if it looked like I was trying to claim your theory for my own.

For what it's worth, since posting that I've tried level 8 forest x level 4 fire 2 times in hopes of getting a wild, but both have resulted in life. I'm going to keep trying this combo because at least if I get the wrong dragon, the life only takes 3 hours... And I think they're the cutest :)

I can nearly confirm that the Eagle has dominant air genes, because my Firestorms when mixed with other hybrids always breed some kind of fire hybrid.

I got a mist egg and in the love hatch it took 14 hrs! Now again I have 14 in the make, so no eagle egg I think! I believe that the game is no longer has its usual time table!

Here is some level up information that I did not see on the spreadsheet. The experience level numbers seem odd, but I am just rounding to the closest "hundred" (6,812 --> 6,800) so they might be a little high depending on what tipped mine over. Thanks for putting all of this together!

Level - Exp - Farms - Habitats - Dens - Temples - Nests (unlocking)

14 - ? - 6 - 11 - 1 - 1 - 3
15 - 5,600 - 6 - 12 - 1 - 1 - 4 (unlocks 1 habitat, 1 nest, and the Abandoned Castle decoration)
16 - 6,800 - 6 - 13 - 1 - 1 - 4 (unlocks 1 habitat)
17 - 8,200 - 6 - 14 - 1 - 1 - 4 (unlocks 1 habitat)

My poison took 21hrs, not 22. TL might have changed it sibce then the same person said coral took 12hrs when it only took 10 for me.

Just bred a a magic and a water together, breeding time was 10 hours. I highly doubt they made a fruitful, because that requires grass an air, so I guess 10 hours is the breeding time for Corals.

Nest's seem to have gone up!! When I bought my second one it was 25 gold. I decided to pass on the third at 50 gold. I went back for it today and it was 250 gold!!!!

I also believe I have a Mindvolt on the way using this theory. I tried my Air10 and Water7 over and over and over at least 10 times with no success...Then I bred my Air10 with Mist7 (instead of Water7), and I now have a 22 hour breed time! So excited!!!

Yes you should buy it now.... My second one I bought with 25 gold and then showed 3 rd as 50 but like 3 days ago it went up to 500 gold...I'm glad I bought my second for 25 gold

I just wanted to share my data gathered so far in my quest to prove or disprove the theory I posted upthread. Since then, I have bred the following pairings:

Forest (8) x Fire (4) = Life, Life, Life, Wild
Forest (8) x Water (4) = Serpent

So that's a pretty promising ratio of rare to common dragons, I think. Not proof, but enough to make me keep working along these lines.

I prefer to breed pure dragons, as the hybrids are too unpredictable for me. That said, I took a crack at island x firestorm and got another fruitful, calloo callay.

I also decided to try Air (9) x Fairy (5?) in the hopes of stacking the deck further in my favor, but that just got me another fruitful. Back to the original plan.

YES!! finally got the Mindvolt egg on the nest. I too will have at least one of every dragon now...except Diamond! Gonna try developing the 'theory' for other rare eggs next. In answer to Lucastau, the theory is just based on the dragons colouring, so Fairy being mainly yellow would have dominant yellow genes (yellow,yellow,green) Eagle would be (yellow,yellow,red). Gonna test this theory next.

Haha, I'm so glad I'm not the only one! I recommend waiting it out really, it's not worth it as I've done it and regretted it. Thankfully, my neighbors are very kind and I'm slowly getting my gold back up :) have you tried using low levels instead of high levels? I've tried everything and still no luck... But I wish you the best luck :D

My third nest is for 250 Gems and I'm on the iPad :) I think it's just TL being greedy again unfortunately, am glad I bought an extra one beforehand! Gold is infinitely more valuable than any other gift able item in the other story games, IMO, so I'm glad we get to gift them at all. I feel so bad for my other 100 nbrs though, wish there were other less valuable items to gift to all my other friends...

Actually no, it seems air,air,water for Mindvolt. I used Air10 & Mist7. So u get about twice as much yellow to blue. This is just a theory started by driftboutique & pinkstarbelly, I had got 10 or 12 Mist and was ready to give up so I thought Id give it a go a nd it worked.

This way has worked for a number of fustrated players to get a Mindvolt, after many,many Mists. It may have been a coincidence, but I have just tried it again to get an Eagle ( no idea how I got the first one) Air10 & Fire4....14hs looks like an Eagle to me.

I have tried countless times to get an eagle... Air 10 with fire 5, 6, or 7 or with firestorm... All have given me Firestorm. :p.
I've given up for now and am getting the new purple hybrids.

I just ran the same combo earlier and came up with 14h as well! :) I am definitely getting a higher percentage of rare dragons using this method. Of course that doesn't prove anything -- it could be sheer coincidence. But like you said, if it's getting results, why not go for it!

I tried Firestorm 10 and Island all level and got lots of Fruits, Life, got an eagle once, few Firestorms, lots of Island. I even got Fairy once. My breeding experious tell me, the result can be any dragons from this combination.
At this point it pure luck, like you play Russian roulette :) or slot machine.

Well, my first attempt for a Mindvolt was a Lvl 7 Yellow with a lvl 4 Blue, which resulted in a Mist. Maybe I'll try breeding a Mist with my lvl 4 Blue. Hopefully the double Blue genes will result in a Mindvolt.

Firestorm/Island gave me my Serpent, I think this combination can literally give anything as it combines all 4 colours. I think it may depend on level of dragons used.

I just had an egg in the breeding den for 14 hours. Now, looking at the times on page one, that would indicate an eagle, but based on the colors I used--L7 mist and L7 forest--I figured that was highly unlikely. True enough, it was a mist that was placed on a nest when the breeding was finished.

Have the times been changed or was this some form of fluke? Mist is listed at 16 hours.

Well, see I am not the only one to discover this. If times were changed, it would be interesting to have an explanation, or have the times been totally randomized?

All I can say for certain is that I received a mist egg at 14 hours, but if LUCAS just had one at 16, then something else is definitely up with the times.

OMG!!! According to this list, my first ever breeding session gave me the rare Fairy Dragon!! I'm still waiting for it to hatch but I'm so excited! I have seen something worth sharing. It appears that when u own a diamond dragon and u place it in the evolve temple, visitors to your island will still see your dragon in its habitat and the blue heart crystal in the temple. Not sure if this is the case for all dragons or a special diamond trait.

Ok. I get that TL is still tweaking the game and the game's economy. If we end up with a better game I've got no issue with that. What gets me thinking is that they'd have to be tracking users. How often they play, how fast they're leveling up etc. So if TL is monitoring my game they can clearly see that I need a bit of help getting serpent, mind volt, diamond etc. (All a bit tongue in cheek but seriously could use a more luck with breeding)

I can only receive 20 a day and I need more than that to expand. also each map needed is ten gold, when I need 32 of them, its not worth it.. iD rather put the gold into breeding a diamond.... You can email support@teamlava.com (support@teamlava.com) and they can transfer your games. Give them you storm ID, the level of one of the games that you play and the number of gems you have in one of your games.

If you know the UDID numbers for both devices , give support that information


You can also try and transfer yourself.

Put lvl 5 Mist first then lvl 7 Air. Unfortunately, it's yet another Mist. At least my Den and Nest are both synchronised , which means I don't need to worry about erratic timing.

I have been stuck on the hatching rare dragons quests for forever as I seem to have no luck breeding rares :( but yesterday I finally tried a high level air (9) and low level fire (4) an low an behold a 14 hour breed time! Woohoo! Finally got my eagle I was super excited. I tried the same air with low forest but seem to still be getting a fruitful but I won't give up! Anyway just thanks for all your ideas :)

Oh and my 2nd nest went up to 125 gold as well. Yesterday I thought yeah I should buy a second nest since its only 25 gold but apparently I waited too long :( anyway just adding mine since everyone seems to be having different amounts. And my mist took 14 hours...

Here's what I do with the maps: when I run low, I select 20 neighbors who I know play often and will respond quickly, and I send the request to them so I know I will get the maps I need or my next expansion. Then, I go back and resend the request to all my other neighbors. I know it won't go though at once but those requests will be queued up and keep getting sent out while I am working on my next expansion. This way, I get ahead on my map requests.

Now I am righteously angry. I just spend $19.99 to get 530 gold specifically to add a second nest (and it took me 5 days to get TL to credit my account with that gold). Just ready to add the nest and the bleeping thing is now 800 gold bars. This morning it was 250 gold which was already a ten fold increase from the 25 it was when I started. This is quite similar to the last expansion in Bakery when the expansions were costing anywhere from 40 gems to 180 gems, except this increase from 250 to 800 in unconscionable. I was really enjoying Dragon. I am so disgusted I can barely stand it. And I am also sure that there are players whose cost for a second nest is no where near 800 gold bars. I will not pay $40.00 US dollars for one virtual nest in a virtual game. I buy gems but this one is really over the top.

Oh, btw, I am through buying gold in this game because I clearly cannot keep up with the increases that TL randomly and capriciously imposes. For those of you who have much lower prices for the second nest or anything else you want, I hope you get it. This has really taken a big chunk of fun out of the game. One way or another, we will still need to buy it. With more dragons are coming in, we will need more habitats for them. Evenif you've already bought those, one day soon it will be fill up, and you still need to buy another one. Maybe you think, "Oh, I'll have more money when that time comes". If you do, then what makes you think that TL will stop all these increases in price.its 60k yesterday, 180k today, and maybe 5.4 mil tomorrow?

It doesn't matter how many new dragons they introduce - I am at my maximum capacity. And as it takes more than two days to collect enough maps to expand, plus trying to save up the money as well, waiting a day for the expansion, then waiting up to two days for the newly expanded area to be cleared, it is going to be a long, long time before I can get anymore :(

I enjoyed this game at first, but it is very quickly losing its appeal.

At the risk of sounding crazy, why would a game developer create such cute games, and then turn around and ruin the game by jerking everyone's prices up to the point of ridiculous? I've given up on Pet Hotel because the prices quadrupled and now this? I am so sad :(

My 12 hour speed up expansion now costs 120 gold. I had been speeding up expansions but will no longer do so. This is a huge 10 fold increase now from what it was.

Same here, at level 24 it was 1600 gold, and not it spiked to 3200 golds.
I'll never get that fourth nest I guess...

I hate this too, but I think if you wait like 20hours for that breed it will make egg next time you log in after it's done breeding.. It happens a lot for me when breeding any other dragons too

There are many possible outcomes from that combo and diamond is the rarest. You will likely have to try dozens of times if not more to breed a diamond dragon.

I heard some experienced players have already tried 5x times but still not yet get it.
So it really depends on your luck. (If you get one diamond, maybe it's time for you to buy Lottery as well!) :-P

No, Charm is common. The other 3 new ones are Super Rare.

oooo, I am going to have an extra rare after breeding 50 dragons?!?!? Cool, it makes me feel better :-) I have been trying for a mindvolt and serpent, and stopped even thinking about the diamond since I was being overrun by firestorm dragons. But then I started making what feels like millions of Island dragons.

got a mindvolt when i was trying for a seabreeze (lvl 10 air + lvl 10 water). well i haven't gotten any rare dragons in awhile since i have been doing firestorm+island like forever, so this is a nice surprise.

but now that air + water gives u three combinations = mist, mindvolt and seabreeze, how do u get seabreeze then?
