All my food disappeared!!!

I decided to redecorate and when I replaced the counters...hours and hours of food disappeared. How do I get it back? If this always happens...a pop up with a warning that we'll lose food is important.

If you store a counter the food will be lost.

yep, I deleted in error and lost merchandise. it's a shocker.
