Maths Challenge Game!

To play this game I need 8 daily players, so please sign up now!

How To Play?
I post a square of 9 numbers:

You then have to make the centre number by: timesing, adding, dividing and subtracting the numbers around the outside.
So to get the centre number 156 you could: add 20 and 3 to get 23, then times the 23 by 7 to get 161 and subtract the 5 to get the answer 156. (Your answer should look like this: 20+3=23, 23x7=161, 161-5=156).
You can only use a number once!

I will post a new square every day and the person with the least amount of points will leave the game.

The points work like this:
If you get the number exactly right you get 10 points.
If you are 1 number off the exact number you get 8 points.
2 numbers off 6 points.
3 numbers off 5 points.
4 numbers off 4 points. etc.

When you have your answer you will have to private message as you don't want anyone to ***** and to see your answer.

There is no prize but I will design a trophy with your name on it and it will be my profile picture!

Just try doing them even if you're not still officially in the competition.

I don't think you can use powers...but with lots of even numbers, you sort of can anyhow.

I figured these have more than one answer. Looking back at my scribblings I worked on 38 x 34 x (9-3) for quite a while, but could never get it to work out. Glad to see someone did.

Just like you, I also worked on (83 x 34 x 3) for a while. But I worked most of the time on 38 x 34 x 3 x 2 which has two ways to give you 7776 (irritated isn't it?)

Now I would like to know the solution of Branston. Maybe his is different from both of ours.
