I gift and gift and ask daily of all of my neighbors for gifts and get so few gifts back. Been working on 5 new exhibits but has not finished a single one in 3 to 4 days now and I currently have 80 neighbors. I am just surprised that it seems so slow. In the last 8 hours, (I was at work) I got no new gifts.

It's possible that the neighbors are not that active, so they have not been accepting your part requests. Try posting a message on their game asking them to send you the parts you requested. You can see if there are any active Zoo Story 2 players that are accepting invites and try to invite them.

I would go through your neighbors and determine who is not actively playing, delete them and ask again. You may need a lot of new neighbors. I personally don't keep neighbors who are not very active players.
