losing chef points

I've lost some chef points for certain items. Sunday I updated my spreadsheet to reflect my current level for all items. At that time, I had achieved line cook status for lemon scones and had fully completed level 4 for beef chow me in. Today, when i was serving the lemon scones, the pop-up congratulated me for being promoted(!) To line cook, and my beef chow me in now is roughly 2/3 of the way to having completed level 4.
