I've looked and couldn't find the answer. I want to know the cost with taxes/charges included for 24 gems @$4.99 and I also want to know the total cost of 50 gems on sale @$7.99. I will be using iTunes and a gift card so I need to know how much to get. Thank you

I have never been charged taxes on gems. I'm in the US, don't know if that holds true for purchases internationally.

From my email receipt records, I don't have a record for your question on 24 gems @ $4.99. I also don't know if tax is based on seller or buyer's location. I'm in Texas, United States if that helps.

Same as Team Lava :). Although now you guys are making me doubt my earlier statement as I thought they were supposed to charge tax if you live in the same state. But I could swear they didn't because I've always purchased using an iTunes gift card and my remaining balance would always end in $.01 (i.e. I paid xx.99 for a gem package). Then again, I haven't bought gems in months so I could be remembering wrong.

Maybe the iTunes gift card already has the tax added so your not charged extra tax during purchase as opposed to having a credit card on file. It'll be interesting to see how this is calculated. Where's queentina when you need her?❤ ha ha

Probably a good idea to be prepared to pay taxes just in case.

Ah okay after a bit of googling, iTunes "will charge tax only in states where digital goods are taxable." http://www.apple.com/legal/itunes/us/terms.html

A list can be read at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taxation_of_Digital_Goods

Internationally, I don't know about the rest of the world but in England, I pay less than what the gem prices are because the ? is currently stronger than the $. And VAT would already be included in the price I pay as is standard for England.
