Posting a picture

Everyone seems to be having trouble on posting a picture for the contest or just posting a picture in general. Well, fear no more! I'll explain step by step on how to post your fabulous restaurant and show-off it to the world!
*Note: This is for iPhone users only. The processed used is only ONE of the many ways of doing it.

What you'll need:
?A picture of your restaurant saved to one of your iPhone's Photo Albums.
?Photobucket.com App (doing it through Safari didn't seem to work for me).
?Be registered to Photobucket (Resgistering online worked best rather than through the app).

How to do it:
?Once you've registered online, open the Photobucket App and login.
?After logging in, tap 'Upload Media' at the bottom then tap 'Choose Exsisting'.
?Tap on the picture of your liking and let it upload.
?Once that's done, head over to 'My Albums' and the picture will be there. Tap on it.
?Now, when you tap on a picture, there will be an information icon at the lower right. Tap on that to see your picture's links. For this forum, you'll need the IMG. Tap on that and it should be copied.
?Alright, you have the IMG link so head over to the contest post and reply to the thread. Now, you can paste the IMG to your reply and your picture should show up.

It's the same. I'm on iPad too. Download photo bucket app. I had no problems registering acct thru app.

When u take a pic, save to ur photos. Close story app, open photo bucket app, upload ur pic. Go to 'my albums' then chose ur pic. When it opens big, select link icon which opens options. Tap on image URL to copy. Close p.b app. Reopen thread and paste ur pic into your post.

It should work perfectly fine for the iPad. You can do all the steps the same way, I believe. This is a great guide, btw!

It seems the Android version is still being worked on. It wasn't until recently that walls and floors could be decorated. I would hazard to guess this feature is still being worked on. Remember that developing on Android is no as easy as Apple. Apple is a single platform developed and supported by one company. Android is a multi platform OS on a wide variety of devices with different hardware made by many different companies.

But with Android there are ways to grab the screen and save it as a file. It does involve rooting/jailbreaking to make it work. If you are already rooted get the free 'Shoot Me' app from the market.
Run Shoot Me to turn it on. While it is on every time you shake your phone it will save a copy of the screen to the sdcard in the ShootMe folder. Share the screenshot with your favorite sharing site.
Don't forget to run Shoot Me again to 'Quit' the app so it doesn't fill up your sdcard with pics you don't need.

If you don't know what rooting means or the risks involved I suggest you do not do it. Research it for yourself if you are interested. Android Central is a good source of information like this.

Can you not just post it from your computer? How would you do that?

I use Photobucket Mobile on my iPod to upload the pictures of my bakery/restaurant/etc to my photobucket album, and the use Photobucket on my computer to upload the pictures to the contest.

When you get to the spot to paste the link- is it just a link that visually appears in the large box ( that is all I see- not a picture ) and when I hit submit the rest of the world will see my picture only and not the link? I only ask because the link displays my user id and want to make sure I am posting a picture

Thats right. When you add the link in your post it shows up as a link, not as a picture, but if you click on the "preview post" button at the bottom of your post (next to "submit reply") you will get to preview your post and your picture should show up in that. Does that make sense?

Here's how I do it

Grab the ImgurFree app form the appstore (iPhone app but works on iPad)
Snap a photo of your store.
Open imgurFree
Click the camera icon
Choose your snapshot
Wait for upload to complete
Tap the the first box and choose Copy
Create a post on this forum
Add long press and paste the imgur URL here in your message with no spaces
Preview your post to make sure you did it right.
Make any corrections and post.
