Mastering menu items?

I play rs and just started playing bs. In rs u have to master menu items by cooking them so many times and u get different levels and rewards for reaching those levels. I do not see the master bar at the bottom of the menu items. Do we not have to master items in bs?

You have to reach Level 8 and then you'll see the mastery bar.
