On request I am posting a list of the LEAST productive animals, as far as earning gold. If you already have a full zoo and want to store some of the animals, in favor of decorating or perhaps spamming ice creams stands for more gold, target these first.
Once again, this list is determined using an average of 4 collection times, from 3 to 12 hours. Most people can't collect much more often than this on average, unless you don't sleep.
All of these animals earn less than ~3 gold per hour (for ONE animal). In comparison, 9 ice creams stands in the same space would earn ~18 gold per hour - - ON AVERAGE. Yes, from ice cream you can theoretically earn 9x16=144 per hour, but you would have to wake up every hour at night and collect every hour during the day, to get that. If you collect 3 times in a day (on average every ~8 hours), then you're getting (9*16*3)/24 = 18 per hour.
See my older posts for the list of the BEST gold or XP earners, both animals and attractions. By comparison to the above, the best animals earn 24 to 140 gold per hour, with the SLOTH, JACK RABBIT, COBRA and GILA MONSTER earning the top spots.
