Avatar won't change to a boy

Hello... My avatar won't change
to a boy. When selected the game says that it has been updated but nothing happens. I am using a droid x. Playing game version 1.0.7

Hello, I restarted my phone and reinstalled city story and there is still know change. I am running android 2.3.3 model type droidx

umm when I change my avatar I do not get a message that my game has been updated. Where are you going to change your avatar.
