What is the lock for on city story???

I was wondering what that lock meant on city story. When you click on edit and then click on a building a lock and rotate symbol came up . Being curious I clicked on it and it made my building disapear so I was wondering how to get it back? Thankss

You have an inventory store where you can put stuff that you don't want on the city area. Tapping the lock is the method by which an item is placed in the inventory. Also, if you have neighbours who send you gifts they will be put in the inventory if you accept them.

To retrieve an item from the inventory, tap Tools then Edit then Inventory. This will then show you the inventory store from where you can select an item and place it back on the city area.
