Lost American curl cat!

I had four American curl cats and just purchased all the upgrades. Then, I started breeding a Scottish terrier. All of a sudden, my game said I was out of sync. I was back down to three cats and my terrier was still breeding. Is there any way this can be fixed?! Thanks!

Make sure you are only playing the valentine game.
It sounds like you may not of been in sync with the servers.
Before collecting your babies or placing anything in the nursery, make sure you let all the pops up come up in the game, then go into your inventory or visit a neighbor first.
This will allow your game to catch up with the servers before you start placing items.
