i will update to gingerbread and do a factory reset. how can i get my farm back after that? cheers

Your Farm will still be there, as it's saved on TL's Servers. Just download the game again from the Market and it should open to your Farm without a problem.

I don't think you need to do a factory reset after upgrading to Gingerbread. I didn't.

There's no reason to do a factory reset after a firmware upgrade.
