Well, it's almost here! The Great RS Update Date! I haven't announced the updates in quite some time now, and I apologize for my absence. I am back now, and for a while. The updates have been changed from Friday to Thursday, giving us our updates one day earlier in the week. Valentine's Day is over, and the Valentine's Day version is now unnecessary. You can delete it, and redownload the regular version from the App Store/Andriod Market. The Valentine's goals will be available for a while longer, so don't worry about not finishing them.*This week, the new teasers are from GM. Welcome the Mini Hockey Arena and Baby Back Ribs to your Restaurant soon!

I was under the impression that the goals won't credit you if you're NOT using the Valentine's version, is that not the case any longer? I'm not going to download the regular RS until I know for sure that the goals I'm working on will actually be credited.

There has always been a "regular version" in the Android market. TL doesn't do holiday versions or goals whatsoever for Androids.

Also the Restaurant Story in the iTunes store hasn't been updated to my knowledge with the bug fixes for the coin loss issue, whereas the Valentine's version has. The Android version was updated the other day with the bug fix, but not the regular version of RS for iOS to my knowledge. I'll be keeping the Valentine's version until I know for sure that the bug fix has been applied and the goals will count if I change to that version instead.

You can continue to play on the Valentine's version (hey, I personally like different backgrounds :)) I have finished my goals, so I can't check if they've carried over to the regular version now - though I'd guess they might have.

IOS regular RS is version 1.4.1
Android current version 1.3.6.01 released on 2-13-12

Cool, that's the version that is showing up in mine. For some reason I thought there was a later version of RS regular for iOS, but I guess there wasn't. Do we know if the bug fixes for the coin issue have been resolved on TLs server end for that version yet, or are they still working on it? Once I finish the Valentine's goals I was going to download that version, but will hold off if the coin issue is still present.

Since I've only been using the V versions for the games lately, I'm not sure about this - was it occurring in the regular version? Maybe it was a bug that hit the V versions and Android, but missed the regular one? Yes, I have Dec as the last update also.

Actually I'm not sure now that I think about it. When I was having the coin issue it was with my Android but iOS users were stating they had the problem as well, but I'm wondering if they were using the Regular or Xmas version? I was having the issue in BS and RS, but not FS, so I don't remember which game the iOS users were having the problems in.

I guess when I'm done the goals I'll just download the regular version and watch my coin total to see if there are problems with it. I haven't had ANY coin issues since transferring over to the iPad 2, but that may be because I've only ever used the Valentine's version of the games on it. :p

The Mini Hockey Arena is a limited time offer sent to random players. Not everyone will get the limited offer. Same with the Rose Seller; that was a previous week's limited offer.

LMAO, ever since I got enough gems I don't get the limited offers in BS anymore. I get them in all my other games that don't have that many gems, but not BS. Random my .................................The randomness is their coding somehow saying "no or low amount of gems, send so they can purchase them, if they have gems, don't send offer to". HAHAHAHAHA

Wait, the ribs are going the right way in the pic up there. Mine are sideways and they look really weird. Anyone else have sideways ribs or am I special?

Edit: Huh. Okay. Apparently if you rotate the appliance the ribs do not rotate with it. Witness:

Not necessarily. I had 104 gems and got the offer in BS for the cabin fireplace. I bought the fireplace mostly because I needed to get under 100 gems so I wouldn't accidentally convert 100 gems to coins.

Drift - I think all the food/appliances are like that (though maybe the sushi counter was different?). Can you pull one of the stoves or ovens out, rotate it, and post the same pic again? I'll go double check mine as well. I did already notice the smoker.

You're right, the sushi counter is the same way. I never noticed, I guess because the way it's designed it looks good either way. I don't have a problem with it anywhere else but it seems a little odd on the smoker.

I think it's totally random. I got the offer in both RS and Bakery. I don't have enough gems in RS for it but I do in Bakery. Not that it matters since I won't be taking advantage of either offer.

The orientation of food relative to the rotation of the appliance wasn't that noticeable until 2x1 appliances were introduced. When it's a square it pretty much looks the same.

I'm kind of getting bored with all the non food related Restaurant Story items.. I wish it would go back to its roots. There's still plenty of items that could be added.

I'm tired of all these one recipe constructables. I wouldn't mind if they would add recipes to them, but I have too many appliances in storage that I've maxed out the one recipe from and now they're useless. Or at least stop making them constructables because that just makes me feel like TL adds them just to get people to spend their gems to finish them.

Nope. There's been plenty of times when I didn't get the BS or FS limited offers.

Also, lately, I've only been getting the 20% off sales on my phone, but not on my tablet. If I ever decided to give TL money again, I would do it on my tablet, so it's p-ing me off that I have never had a sale offered on it. Actually, I guess it's a good thing. Keeps me from buying gems :D

I never got a valentine version! I got the candy cane maker after xmas and the valentine cookers too late. got not recipies at all anywhere. no valentine goals. come on. i been playing for a yr now and still dont get anything worth playing for. this is a bust

It sounds like you're on Android, since you got the candy cane maker after Christmas instead of before like those on iOS got. Or maybe an iPad user, since some of them didn't get the Christmas version and goals.

If you're on Android you won't get a Valentines version. Special holiday versions and goals are only for iOS players.
