Ok so here is the first contest. Lets see if this gets any responses :p

Remember that all forum rules apply.

Design this cake template for Valentine's Day!!
Try to include TL or TL logo somewhere on or around the cake.
Added: Decorating outside the cake lines is ok :)
Multiple entries is also ok.

I was going to make the voting on Facebook likes, but would seem that not everyone can just hit like without a Fb acct.
Then I was thinking having the votes on Picasa cause it also has like buttons, but not everyone might not have google accts.
I might have to combine the different ways to vote on them.

Photo Editing programs include but not limited to:
Photoshop (PS), Paint Shop Pro (PSP), Microsoft Paint, Paint.net and GIMP.
There's an iPad Photo Editing program mentioned in the Forums called Sketchbook Express (also available for Android tablets).

Photo upload services are Picasa Web (Google), Photobucket, Flickr (Yahoo), and you can even use your facebook account with a public setting on the photo/album you'd like to share.

Well this contest isn't actually for gems, it's just for fun. And there currently is a contest that doesn't require artistic s****s of any kind but unfortunately you missed the deadline. I keep hoping they'll do like a haiku contest or something, I think that'd be really fun, but honestly I think it's great of TL to host any contest at all where they give out free gems, it's something they don't have to do at all.

I LOVE POETRY!!! I aced my English because of Haiku's! Maybe we should ask TL for a poetry contest right?! Who's an English teacher here? :)

I Nevr get the good stuff. Life treats me like trash you know that word... why cant i get onne benefit??? Life for us disabiliies is about the journey toward independane.. which is stupid. I can't promise that I will join this time as I don't have any innovative idea on Valentine's cake. Those themes usually are roses/heart/pink/red related... Now I see some awesome entries and I may have some inspiration then. Hope to see more entries soon :)

Ideas:

Use this (http://rachael98.tumblr.com/ask) feature on my Blog - I can send you the results, Sehana, if people just typed the username they wanted to win.
Alternatively, getting an account at the TLFForums is really easy, and I can quickly approve them.
As you will be given ACP access whilst I'm on holiday (if you like - we can discuss it in FLD later), Sehana, you could delete any accounts that users didn't want to keep, if they only set up for the vote - or they could keep them, and have them if they ever want to go there!

A contest can be held by anyone in the forum. It's just the players can't award Gems.
Prizes are up to the contest host.
I'll have to gather some ideas if the community wants more player contests. Unless they want to host a contest themselves.
When i will probably give away a prize is uncertain at the moment as I am not working so I can go ahead and finish up my degree.

No problem :). I've remembered there were quite a few player contests at the beginning, but died off. Just thought to host one myself. It came to me when all the recipes changed stats and stuff and was kind of disappointed and everyone on the forums were disappointed from that event. So I thought to release the stress a bit. But then before I started the contest, they went and changed all the stats back :) which is all better now.
