Can you exchange coins for gems?

Hi all, when you go to menu to pick a dish to cook and u click on coins underneath the dishes it gives u the option of so many coins for gems but when u go to exchange coins for gems it says u do not have enough gems. I do understand u can buy gems with actual cash, just wondered if u could swap your coins for gems?

haha well to explain it further.. buying gems is how Team Lava makes money. Most of the high level players have a ton of coins but limited gems because there are only a few ways to earn them. If we could convert coin to gem no one would buy gems and the company wouldn't make money.

Thanks i did think this, it was the way it was phrased. which is the quickest and cheapest way to expand your restaurant, any ideas would be gratefully received.

You can only exchange gems for coins. Being able to exchange coins for gems would pretty much make teamlava lose every customer they have as ultrafrog said lolz...
