Does anyone know if, when or how Android can or will have emoji. I'm tired of seeing weird squares and big gaps in the messages that people leave on my wall making the message not make any sense.

I do not know. Its not something TeamLava can make happen. Its an Android thing.

It's one of the reasons I don't use emoji even though I have it so my nbrs won't see blank squares on their wall. I do use it for a few that I know have it.

I'm so jealous of iOS and their emojis!
I downloaded a keyboard app that will let you USE emoji, however you can't see them.
I don't even use it anymore though.
