Well, it's almost here! The Great RS Update Date! The Holiday Content has to go, but it is making room for new content! A quote from the official thread:



- All goals (Christmas and New Years) have been extended until Feb 9
- Timed goals will receive additional time
- All seasonal items will still be removed on Jan 20
- You will have access to any seasonal items you have purchased
- You will have access to any recipes you have unlocked

Why the developeers make everything go wrong..? I sincerely wonder.
Some cool recipes come and go, the seasonal stuff too, there are so many beugs that we can't play normally anymore...

Eh pretty boring considering the mass majority of items are worth gems, and not everyone can partake in the new content. Plus when I first looked at the heart chair, it reminded me of a toilet, lolz.

Yeah, too many gems items and if you want your tables/chairs to match, you have no choice but to purchase gems. If I'm going to purchase gems it will be to unlock all levels for appliance purchasing, which many might think would be nuts of me, but since I can't keep my counters stocked with the appliances available at the level I'm at, buying as many as the Restaurant will hold is the only way to try to get a stock of food. LOL

I placed a Candy Heart Stove and it didn't go towards the goal it is still showing 0/1

So not fair!!!! And whats with all the constructable appliances? It takes me days to get enough parts from neighbors to build them :(

The valentines version of the app didn't show up for me either when I searched "restaurant story". I searched for "valentines restaurant story" and it did though.

I like that there is a lot of new content, but don't like the continuing trend of more 1 trick appliances that take a long time to complete and only prepare 1 recipe.

I don't think anyone has gotten far into the goals yet but I hope there aren't any that require gems to complete.

There aren't any new recipes available without completing some goals first.

it's not hard. personally, when i request parts, i request from all 100 something of my neighbors. that way, it takes 4 days to make an appliance and i will have about 80ish leftover parts of each.

I've managed to have full set of easy regular appliances, drink machines, sushi counters, but only a couple each of the new appliances.

The silver lining is that the new appliances are fairly useless. They only cook 1 recipe anyhow.

I found that i did not need more than about 6-8 of the new appliances to master the recipes. I wouldn't waste parts building a full set of chestnut roasters when it can cook only one recipe.

You're right that it's not necessary to have a full set but while I don't have full blown OCD I have bouts of it.

That's why I try to collect as many as I can before they get taken away.

I built 18 drink machines, stoves, ovens, and grills. I use all 18 stoves, ovens, and grills all the time. I built 12 sushi makers, which is enough, and 6 or 7 of the other machines since they had 1 or 2 recipes. If I could do it over again I would have built less drink machines, but I did not know then they would rarely add new recipes if at all to the newer appliances. With 17 or 18 appliances you can master a dish by cooking 5 times. With 6, 14 times. With 7, 12 times. That is fine for me.

Have you looked through the whole thread... It's currently only 5 pages so not a bad read (unfortunately because it's a forum, you will always have to be reading to find your info) but there's even is a picture that contains lots (if not all but the 1st place prize)... So do remember to look through past posts because you've just dismissed lots of people's hard work. ^^'.

I have a suggestion. I you need a total of 20 parts, one thing you can do is ask 5 or 10 friends for one kind of part, then 5-10 of the second part, etc. This way, your not getting WAY more parts then you need to build your appliance, plus you get the parts faster then asking all of your friends for the same part.
This is mostly helpful if you have a decent number of friends/neighbors.
For example, if I need 5 screws, 5 metal sheets, 5 motors, and 5 springs ( I just mentioned random parts, btw), then I may ask 10 friends for each part. Assuming I have 40 friends/neighbors. This is very helpful as well just in case some of your neighbors are unable to play the game that particular day. By asking 10 neighbors for each part, if 4 of your friends you ask do not play the game that day, well then you can still hope the other 6 people will play and *TA-DA!* 6 screws/metal sheets/motors (whatever you requested) is yours!

At least for parts you can stockpile them to use for the next appliance if you receive more than needed.

I just dislike that for the goal item requests any extra items are simply wasted.

Also your system works if you talk to all your neighbors to ask for parts :p I know I don't..

I don't really even know which of my neighbors are really active haha, I just send out parts requests.

The request system isn't real time/instantaneous is it? I think some people noticed that there could be hours long delay between sending a request and having the other person receive it.

Hi does anyone know how to go about it when losing gems?...I got a Lost Connection sign pop up & before I knew it somehow Coins popped up, it happened so fast, I unintentionally clicked it & lost gems. Is there any way to get them back? Thanks.

That's the main thing that some players are angry about in these games.

The experience of most players that contact support regarding gems spent unintentionally is that they do not refund.
