How do you reqest a particular gift from your neighbor? Some neighbors request them

I would like to find out how to request certain items. I would also like to know how to build a house with Aa thouse Pitt pieces and how many of each do I need. I checked out Guelph section but it did not talk about this. I sm sorry but I am new and I love playing this game and I would like to get the most out of it. Thank you in advance.
