I have a lot of money in fashion Story
And it seems that every time I go back to the game the next day, it seems
Half my money is gone. I started with 17,000 and he next day I have 8,000.

try restarting your device, if that doesnt work reinstall your game. all your data will stay. and have you purchased any decorations? or racks? or anything? that could be why

Are any coins being added to your total amount? Which device, device version and game version are you playing on?
For Idevices, just playing on one version may help. Are you getting any out of sync messages or your device is crashing etc? Before this happens.

Are you losing coins when playing the game, or when you first come into the game?
What device do you play on?

I'm playing on version 1.4.1 and on only the original fashion story game. I have not purchased much. Just maybe a rack or so but I know that the money will affect that. It happens when I play the game. I may visit a neighbor with any amount of money and come back with maybe 5,000 less.

Have you tried deleting the app and redownloading, your game is safe on TLs server. To see if it helps with this issue, or tried restarting your device?

Coin losses are happening in Restaurant and Bakery. I've lost coins starting up, after tipping, after visiting neighbors and just about any time. Does this sound like your problem, and if so, TL also needs to fix the problem in Fashion:

This seems to happen 2 me 2. And one day my gems all disappeared too. I cant figure out the problem but its really pissing me off
