This same thing used to happen to me, but it happened when I had an iPod Touch 2nd generation 8GB. I upgraded to a 4th generation last year. How much storage is on your device?

Are you using the game's default music, or did you import your own library?

I think it may be a memory issue for whatever music you play; it's just too much for some devices.
Try clearing your cache, moving things to the SD card and trying to free up a little memory.
