The mandarin ducks are so cute. If you get an animal in a box does it cost gems or coins to get a mate and breed?

To be honest, I didn't keep track but I think it was mostly gems to breed these.

It's 79 gems to get a mate for the Kirin. If you get another one in the mystery box, I wonder if you combine them into a pair? It might be more economical.

In community zoos, I've seen a black panther and an imp. Are those from mystery boxes?

I've seen a ghost (which is an animal, not a decoration) in a community zoo. That must be from the monster box.

I want the taiyaki stand so bad! :( The cutest stuff I want in ALL the story games I play is in boxes. :(

It's 79 gems to get a mate for the Kirin. If you get another one in the mystery box, I wonder if you combine them into a pair? It might be more economical.

If you get a duplicate animal from the box it will count as the mate. Quite a bargain at 24gems when they cost between 59-79gems to get the mate outright.

I won the football helmet contest (thanks so much, TL!) so I gambled on a Far East box and yippee, I got a taiyaki stand! It's a 4th place prize. I wanted the tea house really bad too, but I knew if I gambled again and got something totally not worth 24 gems, like a decoration, I'd be mad that the gems were wasted, so instead I'm getting some animals. If I win another contest sometime I'll spring for another box. Really want that Tea House! Is it 3rd prize?

Yep, the stand is third. I wish I could send you one of tea houses :). It's the second place prizes I want but can't seem to get.

Interestingly, I can't seem to get 2nd place prizes either. I've really wanted a number of them, but between ZS2, RS, FS, and BS, I have opened 16 boxes and gotten 1st, 3rd, and 4th, but never 2nd. A lot of the really great prizes are 2nd!

I'm thinking of splurging on a few mystery boxes. I really only want the animals though. Does anyone know what the odds are of getting an animal as opposed to the other items? I've seen in some of the other story games that the odds of a first place item is about 1%. I'm hoping the odds for zoo story 2 is much better. What do you guys think? Thanks in advance! :)

I just got 20+ Monster Bash mystery boxes. Got a bunch of junk... creepy forests, scarecrows, spooky benches, spooky trees, pumpkin patches, etc. But I'm happy that I got 3 Imps, Cerberus, and a Werewolf! But I really want a ghost! If anyone sees a ghost, can you post a picture? I'm curious about what they look like.
