How to stockpile food?

Cooked food gets sold out quickly and most of the time I come back to empty counters. My restaurant is level 67 and my bakery is 65. The bakery is full with twice as many counters. No problem keeping food stockpile there. Can't say I do anything differently in the bakery. Any ideas?

If you want to stockpile food then cook 1-2 million plates of one recipe and close your doors. When you have cooked a sufficient amount open your door but don't exit the game, you need to watch you customers eat for 10 minutes or your food will instantly sell.
