I will try to post pictures of all goals as time permits. In order to complete all goals you would need to spend 25 gems. 10 to purchase 2 giant candy canes and 15 to plant/skip 15 red roses. If you already have purchased giant candy canes, those would count towards the goal. Not sure about the roses, as I didn't have any planted prior to starting the goal.

Those are really nice rewards. They show up as grass to me so its good to see them posted in the forum. It would be even better if I could see them on my farm, but that is probably unlikely.

I just realized that the red poinsettia is a 36 hour crop. There's no way I'll be able to master that before the holiday items are yanked from the store assuming that


This will be the policy moving forward with seasonal content; when the holiday season is over, the items will no longer be available from the Store or Design menus.

The screen shots in the app store also show that there should be white poinsettias and snowdrop flowers. I don't see mastery happening for me unless I plow up all my farm, and even then it's iffy.

What makes me really upset is that we cannot simply choose to not finish a task and go on to another. I don't know if the pointsettia task requires you to spend gems, but you have to spend gems to get through the tasks ahead of it and I will NOT. It makes me really angry that they make you spend gems just to play the games, and even to get crops (and recipes in RS). :mad:

By the way, how did you get through these goals so fast? It takes time to grow and harvest the crops, and you can only ask for help from your neighbors once a day. Also I still haven't been credited with my red bow so I'm stuck on the FIRST Farmer Claus task. :mad:

I used mostly gems to advance - here is a tip: instead of skipping crops sometimes it makes sense either wait for them to grow (short-term crops) or plant several required for goals and fertilize the whole field for 20 gems (instead of skipping for 30 or 40 gems just for one goal). Harvest these crops as goals appear so you can take advantage of gems/fertilizer.

Also having lots and lots of awesome neighbors helps (thank you, thank you, thank you). Another tip: do not send out request for the same item to all neighbors. Pick amount required plus few additional neighbors and then send your request. This way you can request multiple items required for completing goals the same day.

This would be fantastic except that most of us aren't seeing the requested items that neighbors have accepted. We could send to 200 neighbors and never see 1 returned.

While I understand the whole intention of the game is to earn money from users paying for gems, but this is really discouraging especially during the holiday that emphasizes on giving. Not everyone has the means to purchase gems, you know...

Please, could you let some of your loyal users albeit poor, choose the tasks that we can afford to play, perhaps offering really cool rewards to selected tasks that requires gems, so that we can choose if there are rewards that we are willing to give up our lunch money for? This will give us a reason/motivation to continue playing.

These tasks are really awesome and it brought back the fun of farm story when we first started playing it. I really appreciate it and thank you for it. But to be stuck at a task that requires gem and not being able to move on will definitely **** the joy.

This morning I had 17 request waiting for me and my last check was 3am eastern time, since then I have received 8 more. So that's 25 as of right now and today is the first time I have received a request for the gift, yet to see a request for shovel or sleigh (that's where I'm stuck at).
I have noticed that when I get a new goal I send out request and I get one back within minutes, then nothing for about 24 hours on that goal. Hope TL gets things worked out soon! I'm losing faith in them, and getting very fustrated, it sure would be nice if they would just post and acknowledge they have a problem with the goals and state they are working on it!

1. You can accept 20 gifts per day(ie dog bowls). You can accept a total of 20 constructible materials and goals items combined.

2. From what I have been told, it will stop at the 8. So in other words even though 12 coats get sent back, the extra 4 coats are not stored for you to use towards another goal. If you have to requests coats again for another goal, you will not automatically get credit for those 4.

So, if you're a determined non-gem buyer, don't go on. On page 2 you can see on Yanochka's screen shots all the tasks to be completed. The ones I've mentioned are the only two unavoidable gem tasks.

That is not to mention the terrible temptation to spend some gems just to finish off those gifts lists that haven't quite arrived. The accident of these glitches will have had a riches beyond riches result for TL this Xmas. This without doubt will be their best gem spend promotion since the game began. I've never spent as many in one promotion !

Hell if they could finally get gifting right I could move on. I was told today that my request went out but 150 did not receive etc., 1 problem with that 149 neighbors. Now blocked from asking again until tomorrow and i pissed away 10 gems on Giant candy canes.

Another casualty - Rachael will tell you that from the Latin casu means accident - I hear of today from Mishi is that amid the joy - and surprise - of Android players getting Collectibles, is the small detail that Android players no longer receive notice of Goals Gifts Requests from iOS players. So, in addition to trying to remember when and which column, half or quarter of your neighbour list you've used up and who's been done, who's next etc, you now have to pre-assess who is on Android and who is not.

So, more frustration and more unfinished lists - but not to worry, when that list seems to refuse to complete hour after hour, day after day, yes, you can always use a few gems to speed it all along. Happy farming :)

Quite ridiculous. TL had already gained their gem ransom when I planted them - why go on to make us destroy them ? These were the early red roses and I have to say - thanks to Yanochka's crib - I had them ready a while in the garden and they looked terrific.

i just got the snowy pine tree today so so far i have 3 goals unlocked but i still have a ways to go for the other stuff and its taking forever to get these goals unlocked because of the delay with the buggy asking for supplies and having re ask and wait. its really annoying.

i hope teamlava gives us a lot more time if they expect us to have to deal with their bugs.

One other invaluable feature of your work occurs to me on reading Mushroom's post above - you provided the early warning about the gem cost of doing this. A thought to ponder on might be why is it left to players to alert other players of inevitable and unavoidable gem costs - well into the tasks before you hit them - in these promotions ?

You've got to hand it to TL though. I've spent as many gems this fortnight as I've spent all year - I detect from comments from other players, even some diehard non gem spenders that they're the same. If that's true, then TL may well have made getting on for as many gem sales this fortnight as they have all year ! Double. Amazing.

I got to the "you must spend gems" goals and called it quits. I spent gems to skip the stupid red bow that was sent but never came, and I refuse to spend anymore. I'm a bit sad about not having the poinsettia, but the gift requests have been so aggrivating that I'm thrilled to be done. I can't wait for Jan 13 when Santa and Frosty will stop taunting me about new goals.

Even though I still got stuck at every goal, I'm at least aware of what to anticipate! :( There were many delays in receiving the sent requests and each goal took between 2 to 4 days to accomplish. I hope I can finish them all before they disappear! Am still getting error messages like "140 friends did not receive your request...blah blah blah" when I sent out to 16 friends only. Baffles me completely!! And, requests made 12-24 hours ago had not been received by my friends till now. I wonder what causes these delays??

Yes I agree with you completely on the last part that this Xmas Quests are proving themselves to be extremely stressful and annoying simply because of the numerous bugs laden in the system! It is otherwise a very good game and a very great idea by Teamlava!!!

1. Yes, another animal. 2. It is the reward for the last of Chilby's series of tasks - there are two sets of tasks, one led by a red Santa, the other by Chilby.

I thought it was just me that was having problems with these goals but then I came for a look here and whoa!! I was really enjoying farm story before these goals came along, now I'm just stressed out and frustrated but at the same time I want to finish them because I don't want to miss out on getting new items. It's a catch 22 isn't it :o(

I kept requesting gifts for the goals and wasn't receiving anything back UNTIL I started deleting my farm story Christmas, waiting about 10 mins and reinstalling it from the app store. Each time I reinstalled and opened up my game I would have received 2-3 gifts. A couple times I received all the requested gifts at one time. Not sure what this means but it is working for my iPad.

Why!?!?! There was no specific color mentioned for the roses task. I almost didn't do the task since I can't afford to buy gems and didn't have very many. But I reluctantly did it anyway. I wanted to enjoy having roses on my farm for a bit before I had to harvest them (why couldn't we keep them?). Anyway apparently the task only recognizes red roses so I didn't unlock the task. I planted 5 each of red, yellow and white. I only have 5 gems left, as I said I can't afford to spend real money so I can't buy anymore. I planted roses as the task said but now I'm out my hard earned gems and didn't unlock the task. Really should have specified red roses on the task.

So now what am I supposed to do? Could someone in TL fix this for me? I'm really upset about this. Really losing the joy of playing these games. They are getting more and more complicated (too many things going on) and really annoyed with the blatant greed TL repeatedly shows. Why should it matter what color roses are planted? Why did it even have to require gems?

The goal instruction did not specify a rose color. Therefore all rose colors should count towards the goal. It would be pretty underhanded to not honor that

I've actually enjoyed this whole goals thing. It's nice being able to complete tasks and get stuff that you're unable to get elsewhere. I brought 24 gems at the start of the goals and have used those and a few others I already had in completing these goals. I've just got the red poinsettia's to go. Also for someone a bit lower in the XP level, it's been good to get bulk XP too.

I have had many issues requesting items from neighbors. Sometimes it will tell me I already requested when I hadn't requested in two days. Other times I request from 20 neighbors but it says 60 neighbors didn't get the request. The only frustrating part of these goals for me. Any suggestions?

The same thing happened to me (and probably every one else) All u can do is try again the next day. I wasn't too impressed with the whole goal thing. Each goal should have had a item reward not jus a few coins and some xp. I spent more coins getting more banana trees etc or I would still be only part way through.

Yanochka, is my interpretation correct on the status to unlock the Red Poinsettia:

(1a) Is it right to say that after Quest 17 (All a Test) where we spend 15 gems on the silly roses or skip them, we need to complete Quest 18 (Polar Playmates), then we can get the polar bear and finally unlock Red Poinsettia. No additional gems required beyond that 15 gems? Or

(1b) Following from Quest 17, complete Quest 18 only gets you the polar bear. Red poinsettia is not unlocked from this route?

(2) Alternatively, Red Poinsettia is ALSO be unlocked after completing Quest 16 (A Rare Flower) following the Candyland route where you need 10 gems to buy or skip gaint candy (in Candyland), then complete Quest 10 (wreath resuse), Quest 12 (Holiday Dining), Quest 14 (For the Pigs), Quest 16 (A Rare Flower) in that order. No additional gems needed beyond the 10 gems?

To unlock the red poinsettias, follow all of Santa's goals. You have to go through the pig-in-hat goal first. That one requires 10 gems. You do not have to do the polar bear goal that requires 15 gems.

You may not be on a higher enough level yet to get the goals. Try getting to a higher level to see if the goals show up.

I have done all goal crops except the Red poinsettias and I have just gotten the normal gnomes. nothing special.

Fwiw, I got to level 2 on red poinsettias to get my 1 gem and then stopped because I knew I couldn't make it to level 4. But that was almost a week ago, just after we found out they were being extended to the 20th.

Mine has been moving okay. It does take more leaves to master the higher you get in the levels.


you get 1 leaf when you plant, 2 when you harvest.

Level 1 : 500
Level 2 : 1500
Level 3 : 3500
Level 4 : 7500

7500 leaves total to master.

Have you scrolled all the way to the end of your crops? Past the greyed out ones even... they should be there. Candy cane specifically under grains and red poinsettia under flowers.
