Gift and Request problem

Why did they change the gift and requests so that now all your neighbors are automatically checked? This is a lousy idea and a big pain. Say you buy a new appliance. You may have to request 4 different parts and now every time you tap on "ask your neighbors" all the boxes are checked. So you now have to uncheck ppl in order to have some nbrs left to ask for the other 3 parts you need.

Same with gifts. Our neighbors want different gifts. Yet if you choose a gear for 1 neighbor, all your neighbors are automatically selected to receive that as well. You have to go through and uncheck each person individually! Can you imagine doing that every time you gift someone? If you have 100 nbrs, how is that going to work???

There are always so many bugs with TL's games. Why can't they beta test them on their own time and get it right before it is released? I have never seen another game company with so many buggy issues as TL. Seriously, this is soooo unprofessional. :mad:

I heartily disagree.
Whilst it's not completely the "Select All" button that everyone's been asking for since before I signed up to Storm8, it's definitely a sign that they are listening to the users. :). Many of us have requested something like this.

If there were a "Select All" button, then I would be fine with that. As of now...there is no choice! Do all of your neighbors ask you for the same things? With all of the constructibles, we need flexibility, not only for our neighbors but for ourselves.

I don't like the automatic check buttons either and I'm one who never wanted a gift all button for precisely why I don't like it now. Like the OP, I don't make the same request of all my neighbors. I have less than 50 neighbors in RS and I know I can only receive 20 parts a day - if I need 2 different parts, I ask 10 neighbors for 1 part and 10 for the 2nd part. I also don't like to spam my neighbors with requests every day so I'll send a request to the first 20 one day and the next 20 the next day and trade off. So right now I'm adapting to this "feature" by unchecking the boxes I don't need.

pastrychef, I hope you'll forgive me if you get the wrong part or gift. The real problem lies in the gifting. Every time you want to gift someone, you have to uncheck everyone else. It's very time consuming and will cause delays in neighbors receiving gifts.

As long as you don't gift food, I'll forgive anything :). Except for springs in RS, all the parts are now usable so there's no wrong part to really give. It just might take longer to complete an appliance if you don't get the part you need but it's easy enough to stockpile the other parts for other appliances.

I'm actually going to agree with Rachael when agreeing with TL. I think this is a first.

They have tried to give us something that has been asked for over and over. Its not exactly what was asked for. Its not even what I asked for, since I was always against a Select All button since I have some neighbors that want parts and some that want food. And the ones that want parts are sometimes building different appliances. But it is an easy to implement alternative to what people asked for.

I don't like the new gifting. I also want a "uncheck all" box. I take the time to help my neighbors individually. This seems to be for those who just want a quick way to play the game. So today all of my 400+ neighbors had to get gears. I did not have a problem with the old method after they moved the neighbor you were requesting to send the gift to the top of the list.

i like that it has em all ticked!..... it big pain in but having to tick them all when sending gifts and will give arthrites lol

I like the fact that they are all selected but PLEASE give us the flexibility to 'uncheck all' or 'unselect all' for requesting parts and giving gifts. I like to personalize my gifts to the neighbors who ask or who visit me, the rest of them will get the mass mailing of a gift.
