Another thing is that if you click just slightly in the wrong place when trying to finish a dish that's ready -- WHAM -- there go some gems as you finish another for a fee. The real question is who on earth is paying these prices. I wonder if it's kids using Mom's credit card? Today I encountered someone in-game with so much loot I had to ask -- they admitted to spending at least $150 tricking their restaurant out. $150 for some pixels you can view in your iPod/iPhone/iPad. Wow.

I think they'd sell a lot more gems if they were a lot, lot cheaper. ...

I couldn't agree more.
This game is far to expensive or the prices for stoves etc needs to come down.
Also if you want to expand your restaurant, it's almost impossible without
buying gems, I'm at level 16 now and I have to pay 1,000,000 to expand -
how long time will it take me to make this kind of money???

Also I have experienced that short term food is disappearing when I leave the game
for a short time (food already prepared and being served) and that's even if
I have 4 plates with French toast - they will all be gone if I close the game
for just 1 minute, even they are all almost full and I have plenty of other food.

But please put the prices down in game or for the gems - after all this should
be a game for kids, shouldn't it??

I think it'll be a good idea to be able to convert coins into gems, like u can already do the other way round. Obviously you'd have to save abit but least you won't have to buy anything and can still enjoy the game!

Yes being able to buy gems with coins is a good idea, but I also think that you should get gems everytime you go up a level or two. IDK something like 5 gems per level?

This morning I come across an iTunes email telling me that I have an in-app purchase of $149.97 AUD for the Restaurant Story game. After some rather stern words with my daughter (thinking that she had bought something without my permission), I have now spent way too much time online trying to find out exactly what has been purchased.

After stumbling across this site, I now realise that as she was playing the game, she was given the option of purchasing 'gems' (whatever they are?!!) in order to continue her progess through the game and that I now have no choice but to pay up.

I am absolutely FURIOUS about this. Consequently, I have deleted all of the apps my children use from my iPhone, and refuse to download anymore 'kids games'.

When games are marketed to children, then ALL associated cost MUST be stated in the seller's blurb. Children don't necessarily understand the difference between real money and play money when they're asked to spend it in the middle of playing a game.

I'm now up for a ridiculous amount of money because the app's online explaination gives NO information to parents regarding it's sneaky associated costs and I've lost my temper with my child who thought she was just playing a game and is now completely bewildered by what exactly it is she's done.

Many people make the mistake these are market to children, while they do appear children friendly you usually find the gameplay in them is nothing of the sort. However I agree with all else, the bright colours are attractive and can easilly sucker people into making mistaken purchases. Nothing wrong with the colours and graphics in themselves they are very well done but dont try and sucker peoplpe into thinking rhey are kids games and provide no information to that effect, especially about the pricing the former poster has said they have been billed for.

E-Mail the iTunes Store to get your money back tell them how the game is missinforming customers and therefore caused charges to your account without your approval and that should get you a refund that is not fair how they can trick small children to buy their stingy and expensive items

If you were so diligent in reading the information, why did you not check out the FAQ's after you downloaded the game. There is a whole section that deals with this. One of the questions is" I do not want to pay money EVER."
You are then instructed to turn off in-app purchasing on your device. Go to Settings>General>Restrictions. Had you bothered to do this you would not now be in this situation.

I am sorry you are out the money, but I am really sick of ppl who give their very young children their phone to play with and then do not take responsibility for their own mistakes. Personally, I would never let young children play with an expensive phone. And if I did, I would most certainly read all the instructions before I let them use it.
Then, there is this forum, which if you bothered to peruse the forum you would find answers to most of your questions.

I like the idea of getting gems each time you complete a level.

I've also noticed that the cost to upgrade to each size is not dependent on the current size of your restaurant. It would be better if you just paid a certain amount per extra square of land and you could decide where to put them. As it is I've set myself the goal of earning 1,000,000 coins and then I can do one big expansion. I reckon it's going to take me about three weeks, but I'm enjoy g the game so far and am determined not to buy any gems.

Also why don't they have a lite version and a paid version. You could have it free for 24 hours and then pay 99p or something if you wanted to continue and they could through in some extra gems. That way you would realise who rare the gems are. I spent mine quite early on before I realised their value and use.

They've got a lot of work to do tweaking this game to balance all the variables and have satisfied customers.
