Trading items with neighbors.

I want to trade things with neighbors and I has one neighbor who woul like to give me some of her things that she has acquired during game play. 1-Is it possible to trade things and receive acquired items as gifts? 2-How is it done? 3-No, I don't mean the already disignated "gift" items already available to "gift" to someone else (i.e. dog bowls, certain trees and building supplies).

Trading items between players is not an option in the game.
