I'm currently on level 24 in Restauraunt Story & need more ovens & grills asap. However, since playing the game, I've learned that I'm limited to purchasing ONE APPLIANCE at a time. After I reach a certain level, then it unlocks--but only lets me purchase one appliance. So, as of now I have to wait until I reach level 28 before I can purchase another appliance. Currently, I have 4 stoves (the game starts you off with 2 stoves) and 2 drink mixers. I'd like to be able to purchase more than one applicance at a time. Due to the purchase limitations on appliances, I can only cook ONE OVEN RECIPIE at a time...same thing with the GRILL--only ONE GRILL RECIPIE at a time. Because I only have one of each (one GRILL, one oven), I'm forced to use excessive gems to expedite the cooking times for ALL DAY recipies. It's frustrating trying to cook one recipie at a time. Some recipies take hours.....

At what point (level) do the restrictions on appliance purchasing cease? Being forced to buy one appliance at a time is frustrating....you should be able to buy as much as you need.

Sorry! Correction: 5 stoves, one oven and one grill (getting this mixed up with Bakery Story). Geesh! I'm not sure how to delete my previous post

You are limited to appliance slots, not appliances.

At your level you can have 8 appliances. If you put all of what you have in storage you can buy 8 of any other and you can rotate through them freely (i.e. put all of your ovens in storage and take out all of your grills, etc.)

You can store your appliances and purchase up to the max for each type of appliance. I don't remember how many appliances you can have at Level 24, but let's say 6. You can have up to 6 stoves, 6 ovens, 6 grills, and 6 drink machines. Add on 6 sushi counters if you can build those. So, if you are cooking a stove recipe, you can bring out your 6 stoves, then if you want to make Cola, you can store your 6 stoves and bring out 6 drink machines.

I have 18 each of basic ovens, basic stoves, basic grills, easy ovens, easy stoves, easy grills, and drink machines. I can't build sushi counters yet.

At Level 73 you max out at 18 appliances. If iOS, you can purchase more appliances with gems.

Okay....I'm all set to go! I just stored a couple of stoves and purchased additional ovens/grills. I understand now that it was just a slot limitation based on my level. Thanks again :)

To reiterate what they said, if you're just trying to rank up the mastery levels, you'll want all of your appliances to be the same type. Set them all to cook the same recipe and you'll start boosting that mastery level in no time.

but if all avalible units are cooking food that has not been mastered then surley the end result is the same? no need except for convience to have all the same? end result is X amount of food cooked in X amount of time, having all the same doesn't change the quantity or time value does it?

It's actually not the same if the goal is to gain mastery experience to get the mastery bonuses. By sticking to just one type of food, you'll get that mastery bonus faster than making one of each type. Some people will use those bonuses to help further develop their restaurant.

Food also has different cost/benefits depending on what you cook. There are spreadsheets showing which ones are most efficient. Generally the 1 hr grill items are pretty good for coin+xp and quantity. It's not a problem when you're high level and have over a million servings of food available but at lower levels you want enough food to keep the restaurant from running empty.

Cooking different food all the time also takes up significant counter space which means you must place more counters to accomodate low quantities of food.
